Baltasar Kormákur’s 'Everest' to Open Venice Film Festival

The Venice International Film Festival opens with the world premiere of Icelandic action filmmaker Baltasar Kormákur's"Everest" on September 2 and runs through September 12. It will play out of Biennale competition, announced  festival director Alberto Barbera and chaired Paolo Baratta. Based on a true story, "Everest" (September 18 in IMAX 3D, September 25 wide) documents the journey of two climbing expeditions who struggle to survive freakishly intense snowstorms.
