Toronto Film Fest Fetes Natalie Portman

On September 9, the eve of Toronto's opening day, Natalie Portman will grace the stage for the first annual TIFF Soirée, a starry (and rather pricey) charity event that will honor her illustrious career that began with 1994's "The Professional." An intimate onstage conversation with Portman will be followed by "musical performances and a cocktail" (just one?). One can assume we'll at some point see her directorial debut "A Tale of Love and Darkness," which premiered out-of-competition to mixed reactions at Cannes, at the festival.
