NYFF Preview: 12 Films To Watch From A Long Must-See Slate

From a festival and “festival war” perspective, the New York Film Festival is admirable because they just don’t seem to care about bragging rights and all the other nonsense that festivals fight over each year. Yes, they have some world premieres too, but mostly, the festival, set at the tail end of the fall film festival schedule, is content to program great movies from all over the world and they skew smarter, artier and more cinephile than some of their colleagues.  This year’s slate is no different, tastefully curating picks that appeared earlier in the year at Cannes, some at Venice and a few from Telluride too while including lots of surprises big and small.
