'Amy' Gets a Release Date

Ahead of its Cannes world premiere, A24 will open "Amy," the documentary on late chanteuse Amy Winehouse, in New York and Los Angeles on July 3, 2015 and nationwide July 10, 2015. Directed by Asif Kapadia and produced by James Gay-Rees, the documentary chronicles the many hills and valleys of the British singer/songwriter's short life and career, with rare archival footage and previously unheard tracks. Winehouse struggled long and hard with alcohol and drug addiction and died too soon in 2011 at the age of 27.
